Pirates of the Carabiner was thought up by my, wittier than I, brother in-law, back when I needed a team name for a Denali expedition that never happened. It now encompasses climbing expeditions by myself (Allen Stoltzfus) and James Barkman as well as my own the random personal forays into climbing, running, biking, skiing and any other adventures that come my way.

The scope is simple. To create an easy-to-follow blog style website that allows others to follow along with the expeditions, both large and small, that I spend my time dreaming up and attempt to complete.
